I was here today with my daughter and her husband while my granddaughter attended prom! (They grow up so fast!) Anyways, we had a light dinner consisting of some appetizers and desert. They both tasted amazing! Our waiter was so kind and service was amazing! Such a great vibe inside with a cool tone of lighting!

Honestly, this was one of my favorite dining experiences in the Crofton/gambrills area. Service was excellent, and the food was delicious as well.

I have been to this restaurant twice now and I have nothing to complain about. Everything from the ambiance, to the service to the food makes the drive from Arlington, VA worth it. Place is great for large parties, date nights, and just about everything in between. I look forward to returning.

I always have a fantastic time at the Blackwell Barn and Lodge in Gambrills, MD! When we arrived for our reservation for two, we were greeted warmly and taken right to our seats. Our server, Ryan, was fantastic! He was attentive and funny; we never had to chase him down for drink refills. He even shared some great menu suggestions, including a few of his favorites. We kicked things off with the crab dip, which was delicious. I remember it used to be served in a fun crab-shaped bowl that was lit on fire right before it came to the table, and I think it had more chunks of crab in it back then. For our main courses, we tried the Chicken Pot Pie and the braised short rib. That Chicken Pot Pie? It's probably one of the best I've had in this area! The pastry was perfectly golden and flaky, with just the right mix of chicken and veggies--no soggy bottom in sight! As for the braised short rib, it was so good that it disappeared in no time. We had apple bread pudding for dessert, a delightful twist on the classic--super yummy! Overall, it was a great dining experience!

My husband and I had lunch today at Blackwall Barn & Lodge. It was our first visit there. Lunch was a great time to go, because it was not too busy and we had our choice of tables, so we sat by the fireplace. Our server was named Carlos. He was very likeable and attentive. We both ordered soup to start. Their little cheese biscuits are delicious. I loved their apple and butternut squash soup. My husband, who usually loves French onion soup, was not a big fan of their version (too much cheese, not much broth, and very salty). I ordered the Cobb salad, which was huge and had lots of chicken. I brought enough home for another meal. My husband ordered the Italian pizza, and that was a large serving too, so brought the rest home in a box. He had his favorite draft beer, Vienna lager, and I enjoyed a glass of pinot grigio.

Very cute restaurant! Visited during Valentine's period (the day before) and they had a prefixe menu option for Valentine's Day. They had a guitarist playing live music which was pleasant. It was kind of weird that the items on the pre fix menu weren't on the regular menu at all so if you saw something you liked you have to order all three courses to get it. All the food was good. I was with a party or 5 and there were no complaints about the food. I will say the strawberry lemonade wasn't sweet. I ended up ordering something else to drink. Overall I will definitely be back, very cute place.

Kris was an amazing waitress, she was quick, kind and gave us great service! We will definitely be back!

I've visited this location at least 3 times so I cannot believe I haven't reviewed it yet! The food and drinks are always 10/10. Their old fashioned is one of the best I have ever had and I typically get it each time. The buffet brunch on Sundays are always a treat as well. The servers are always friendly and make some good suggestions when asked. The inside is also very comfortable and stylish.

Amazing Food, Atmosphere, and Service! I went on a girl date last night to meet a friend, and this restaurant was the perfect spot! The ambiance was on point with dim lighting and live music that really set the mood. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and friendly, and even the other waiter checked on us with a big smile--every employee we encountered was just so pleasant, which is rare to find these days. Now, onto the food... absolutely delicious! We started with a Caesar salad and fried green tomatoes--both were so fresh and flavorful. For my entrée, I had the mahi-mahi with spinach and potatoes, and it was cooked to perfection. My friend had a pizza with some amazing toppings, and she loved every bite. And the drinks? Incredible. They were tasty, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of kick. I also ordered a moonshine flight with four different flavors, which was such a fun experience! Overall, this place exceeded my expectations in every way. Between the great food, amazing drinks, and outstanding service, I'll definitely be coming back more often! Highly recommend!
